Rubber roof FAQs

How long does an EPDM rubber roof last?

EPDM membranes are commonly expected to last 30 years or more, and many manufacturers back them with long warranties. Ask us about the warranty on the system we recommend.

Can you walk on a rubber roof?

Occasional foot traffic for maintenance is fine. For regular access, such as a terrace, we would recommend a GRP fibreglass system or a walkway on top.

Is a rubber roof noisy in the rain?

No. The membrane is bonded to the deck, so it sounds much like any other flat roof.

Can rubber roofs be repaired?

Yes. Punctures and tears are repaired with EPDM patches and primer, which bond to the original membrane.
